Measure App

Tech Ages- Written by Michael Draper iOS Measuring App

This edition of Tech Ages is going to focus on an App that can be used on the iOS platform called Measure.

This App allows you to measure distance right in your camera by pacing dots on at least two areas that need measured. It’s really cool. Let’s look at some possible uses.

Smartphone App

Safety-

As pictured here you could use the app to help determine minimum approach distances between work areas and power lines when using a water fed pole or doing aerial lift work. Also, when filling out JHA you have an accurate measurement to know roof distances. These could be included in your written safety plan.

Estimating-

The App will also allow you to place multiple points on a surface and figure the square footage of an area. How cool it that? Now you can get accurate square footage for roof cleaning jobs, window cleaning, pressure washing and more. No more guessing!

Renting Lifts-

How many times have you looked at a building and couldn’t quite decide if you could get away with a 45’ lift or do you need a 60’. Well again this app takes the guess work out of the equation and allows you to order the right equipment for the job.

Check out this cool app in the Apple Store and start being more efficient today.

Jeff Beigel, James Brady
This edition of the A Most Interesting Person focuses on the jobs people were doing before they got into window cleaning. My first story I hooked up with Jeff Beigel in Northbrook Illinois. Before he became one of the top Fish Franchisees in the country he had a successful life doing other things. I also caught up with NYC Fireman James Brady. He has been on the force for 15 plus years and was looking for a second job and he came by it kind of unexpectedly. Enjoy reading their interviews!
